About me as a therapist
I am so grateful to be able to do something I love as a career.
I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and my Master’s of Counselling at the University of Alberta. Since then, I have been working as a psychologist for 14 years.
I currently provide counselling to adult clients. Prior to working in private practice I have worked in a variety of areas such as community mental health (Primary Care Network), at a psychiatric hospital, at a rehabilitation centre for physical and psychological injures, and at a university setting. These experiences have allowed me to learn about a number of areas and develop certain areas of expertise with advanced training and experience. Some areas I currently specialize in include:
PTSD/trauma
Anxiety
Depression
OCD
Perfectionism
Burnout and workplace stress
Self-worth concerns
Body image
Perinatal mental health and adjusting to parenthood (including postpartum depression and anxiety)
First responders and healthcare workers
Health-related issues such as chronic health conditions, chronic pain, healthy habits, weight management, emotional eating
Me outside of work
I grew up in rural Alberta and moved to Edmonton to complete my schooling to become a psychologist. Since graduating university I have lived in the Sherwood Park area and I love living here with my husband and two young children. In my time away from work I enjoy spending time with friends and family, reading, attending group fitness classes, watching my kids’ various activities, and travelling. In the summer I enjoy camping, spending time at lakes, and being outdoors on our acreage.
